EXO’s repackaged album tops Gaon chart for two consecutive weeks

SEOUL, Sept. 21 (Yonhap) — Boy band EXO’s latest record “The War: The Power of Music” has dominated the Gaon album chart for its second week since release, according to its agency Thursday.

The album remained at No. 1 on the album chart for Gaon, the country’s key music sales tracker, during the week of Sept. 10-16, S.M. Entertainment said.

Released on Sept. 5, the album is a repackaged edition of EXO’s fourth full-length album “The War,” which came out in July. The 12-track record includes three new songs — “Power,” “Sweet Lies” and “Boomerang.”

The nine-member band on Wednesday took away three awards, including the grand prize, at the inaugural Soribada Best K-Music Awards held at Jamsil Students’ Gymnasium in Seoul.

EXO is slated to attend KCON 2017 Australia, an overseas Korean music and culture expo run by CJ E&M, in Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on Friday (local time).
