SEOUL, Aug. 30 (Yonhap) — K-pop act INFINITE’s main rapper Hoya will leave the band after seven years, his agency said Wednesday.
“Hoya’s exclusive seven-year contract ended in June. While discussing a renewal, Hoya decided to take a different path to pursue his dream,” said Woollim Entertainment, INFINITE’s management agency. The six remaining members all renewed their contracts, according to Woolllim.
The group debuted in 2010 and has enjoyed successive commercial hits, including “Be Mine,” “The Chaser,” “Man In Love” and “The Eye.”
Hoya, who has served as main rapper of INFINITE, has expanded his show business career boundaries into acting, appearing in hit TV shows such as “Reply 1997,” “Radiant Office” and “Super Family.”
