SEOUL, Aug. 15 (Yonhap) — Actress Hwang Jung-eum became mother of a baby boy on Liberation Day.
“Hwang gave birth to a baby boy at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday,” her agency C-JeS Entertainment said in a release. “Both the mother and the baby are healthy, and she is relaxing in the blessings of her family and acquaintances.”
“I am thankful for the child who was born healthy and am all the more happy because today is Liberation Day,” the 32-year-old actress said through the agency.
Tuesday marked the 72nd anniversary of the country’s liberation from 1910-1945 Japanese colonial rule.
Hwang debuted in 2002 as a member of the idol group Sugar and began her acting career after bolting from the group two years later. She married the pro-golfer and entrepreneur Lee Young-don in February last year.
