SEOUL, July 31 (Yonhap) — Wanna One, a project boy band created through Mnet’s audition show “Produce 101,” on Monday unveiled new details of the group’s upcoming debut album.
According to YNC Entertainment, which represents the 11-member one-off project team, “1X1=1” will be the title of the EP record, which comes out on Aug.7.
The math-themed title refers to the band’s aspiration to become the No. 1 idol group together with its fans, YNC explained.
The band also dropped the names of the album’s seven tracks, including “Wanna One GO,” “Burn It Up,” “Energetic,” “Never” and “Wanna Be (My Baby).” The album was produced by several top-tier producers, including Galactika, Real Bros and Hui of boy band Pentagon.
Wanna One will unveil the title song “Wanna One GO” through Mnet on Aug. 3 and hold a fan showcase at the Gocheok Sky Dome in western Seoul on Aug. 7 after releasing its album earlier that day.
